A wonderful easy to make and fit gathered body called a “guimpe” (pronounced gimp). They were worn under all types of garments, from open-necked dresses to Swiss bodies, vests and jackets. The blouse is designed in the peasant style, with diagonal armscye, similar to a modern raglan sleeve. It features gathers at the neckline and the cuffs and is closed at the center back with either a keyhole opening or buttons and buttonholes. It can be dressed up by adding a row of lace around the neck and cuffs. Available in both size groups, choose the size that closely relates to your bust. *This pattern is also available in a girl’s size. (see Children’s Clothing)
