Two-tiered Tea Dress
TS
D-301

The Two-Tiered Tea Dress is a combination of a modified V-necked bodice with tiered pagoda sleeves and a two-tiered skirt.  The bodice has “revers” or lapels at the neck. The bodice is fitted to the body using vertical pleats from the shoulders to the waist.  The trim on the sleeves is repeated on the tiers on the skirt to give the combination an “ensemble” look.  This is a style that would have been worn by women of all ages, with the older women using darker colors and little or no trim.  The Bodice has many of the features key to the Era:

      ·        long shoulder seams fall towards the back
of the shoulder and side seams are towards
     the back
·
bodice fastened in the center front
·
armseye shaped to appear diagonal and sewn
     with piping
·
sleeves are full at the elbow
·
the back is cut in a princess line and accented
     with piping

The skirt has a built in “Medici Belt” , which is very comfortable to wear and eliminates the need to bone the bodice. The V-neck is designed to be filled with a chemisette (Try Timeless Stitches pattern TSA-502 Chemisettes and Collars) and the pattern includes a simple detachable insert.  The sleeves can be left plain or sleeve jockeys can be worn.
