Boy's Button Fly Trousers
TSM-725

This pattern is for button fly trousers that were worn for most of the 19th century.  There are two options for the back of the trouser:  the standard straight “civilian” back and the placket insert style back that is similar to the military pants. There are two styles of waistband available as well. The standard one-piece style and the two-piece style with the eyelets in the back, which allows for growth in the trousers at the waist.   The pockets are the basic side pockets that were used for both military and civilian styles.  These trousers are designed to fit in the period style, with the waistband being higher than the waistbands of today.  I have also included a simple pattern for a pair of button-style braces, to help hold the trousers up.
