A basic unlined sack coat. In 1857 the military adopted the sack coat as part of the uniform “for fatigue purposes.” It is for this reason the coat is also known as a fatigue coat. The coat is styled so that it hangs loosely off the shoulders and falls straight to about mid-hip. It is not a fitted jacket. The pattern includes five sizes: Small, Medium, Large, X-large and King.
