COLD?  This wonderful hand crafted sontag is perfect for keeping your upper body warm. This garment is appropriate for Civil War reenactments as well as 1800’s events such as Dickens or Christmas Fairs or wagon train (Prairie).  It would also be a good item for workers or volunteers at historical sites.  There are many names for this knitted garment from the basic; sontag, spencer, habit shirt, and crossover shawl to the more whimsical; bosom friend or heart-warmer. 

This pretty soft yellow sontag is made with 100% wool.  The front sections are wrapped around the body and attach to the back with two buttons. Our pretty shell edging softens the look and teal ribbon is threaded through the edging row.   This sontag is sized as a teen or small adult (modern size 4 -10).
