Collection: About Our Patterns

Timeless Stitches patterns were created with a desire to provide accurate, interesting and informative patterns for those wishing to create garments from a prior period in time.  When I started Civil War re-enacting, I could not find patterns that fit properly or were for the garments I wanted to make, so I started making my own patterns.  Soon others were asking where I got my patterns from, and Timeless Stitches was born. 

I think you will find these patterns easy to follow with illustrated directions and information about your garments.  We have tried to include different options and ideas for fabric and trims—all the things I could not find when I started out.

I have tried to size my patterns so that they fit most bodies and have included as many sizes as possible in each pattern.  For those unique people that my patterns may have overlooked, I can and will provide custom drawn patterns, or will adapt an existing pattern to your needs. I am available to help you with any sizing questions. 

None of our patterns are what are called “concept” patterns.  Concept patterns are patterns that a designer thinks up, draws and publishes without ever testing on real people. All Timeless Stitches patterns are made into garments and worn, long before they reach the publishing stage.  This ensures that your garments are going to fit and have the features and design details that work in real life situations.
