TSA-562 Simple Fanchon Day Cap Pattern is for a cute little day cap in the fanchon or kerchief style. The cap is meant to be worn as a morning or day cap when indoors. It is the perfect head covering for those early mornings when you have not had time to completely arrange your hair for the day, This cap was worn from around 1855- 1865. The basic cap is trimmed with a simple eyelet lace but suggestions are included for many other “looks” for your cap some of which are shown on the front cover. By leaving the cap plain and creating some pleated ribbons, you can change the look of the cap to correspond to your different outfits. Instructions for these folded ribbons are included.

For our basic cap:
1/3 yd. fabric of choice. This includes fabric for the ruffles.
2/3 yd. pre-gathered eyelet lace for ruffle edge
