Drawn Bonnet - Assorted Colors, 19th Century Victorian, Frontier, Pioneer, Civil War
Available in a variety of colors these drawn bonnets are just waiting for you to embellish them. The bonnets are made out of soft blended fabrics with either long self-fabric ties or matching satin ribbon ties just right for that perfect bow. Our fabric drawn bonnets offer the perfect alternative to the standard straws or heavy felted wool bonnets at a reasonable price. The bonnet is lightweight on the head and easy to wear. Our bonnet features a broad body with 4 drawn bands so it sits nicely on the head and a fanchon style back to accommodate many of the hairstyles and buns worn during the era. The bonnet fabric is drawn over plastic boning, so you will not experience the crushing or caning breaks that can happen with cane drawn bonnets. It is not possible to tell that plastic is being used until you actually touch the boning. We make our bonnets out of blended taffetas, satins, and silk blends so they are not affected or marked by rain. This is a great bonnet form to embellish upon. Layers of ruching can easily be added to the inside of the bonnet and flowers, feathers and other adornments can be attached. The wide front of the bonnet does not give you the blinder effect many other bonnets have. The bonnets is tied with self fabric ties or matching grosgrain ribbons.
This listing is for the basic bonnet. It is shown with a velvet adornment and a folded ribbon trim which is not included but will give you some decorating ideas. If you wish an adored bonnet please contact me for available trims, feathers and ribbons. I can also attach a white ruching layer to the inside of the bonnet brim for an additional charge.
I currently have: slate blue, navy, deep forest green, wine, white and royal purple. Other colors are available, just contact me for current choices. I also offer this bonnet in red and Black for Mourning.
