Patriotic Colored - Red, White and Blue This crocheted version of a Scotch Tam is perfect as a camp hat, a smoking cap for an extinguished Victorian Gentlemen, or a sleeping cap to keep your head warm on those chill nights. The cap is made of a soft blended fiber in Patriotic Navy blue with red and white accents. The center of the tam is highlighted with a white star and pom. The cap measures 11" across the top and the band is 23" with a simple drawstring to adjust. The crochet stitch allows some extra flexibility in sizing.
The inspiration for the cap came from the CDV shown as well as the picture and comments in Echoes of Glory, The arms and Equipment of the Union. This cap can be used for any Era from the 1800's up to modern day. Civil war soldiers will enjoy the cap for daily camp wear or as a sleeping cap.
