This dress, pinafore and bonnet combination is suitable for most Victorian Era events. When you purchase this outfit I will contact you to discuss your fabric and trim options. We can make a dress up to suit your individual tastes and needs. This dress combination usually ships within 14 days.

Our cotton dress features a fully lined bodice with a round Peter Pan style collar and long shirt style sleeves. A coordinating fabric is used for the pretty pinafore. The combination also features an adjustable floral bonnet of the same fabric as either the pinafore or the dress. The bodice is trimmed with an accent band either vertically or horizontally. The dress buttons up the back. These buttons can be moved to adjust the fit of the dress. The skirt is gathered into the bodice and comes with a 3 inch hem, that can be lengthened as your child grows. The skirt is full enough to fit over a childs' hoop skirt or corded petticoat to give it some structure and shape. If you are concerned about the sizing of this dress, please check out the measurement chart provided before ordering. Some of the dresses are shown over a child's hoop skirt which is NOT INCLUDED.

The simple smock style pinafore was worn throughout the 1800’s. The pinafore fastens at the back with two or three buttons and is finished with cotton eyelet lace at the hemline. Children get dirty. That is a fact of life. It does not matter if it is 2020 or 1863, things have not changed. There is no way to keep children and dirt apart. Pinafores, often also called aprons, were meant to protect children’s clothing from this dirt. At a time when much of a woman’s energies went into feeding and clothing her family, any labor saving item such as a pinafore would have been greatly valued.

Our matching poke bonnet features an adjustable back so that it will fit most head sizes and grow with the child. The brim is filled and quilted with a felt insert, so that it will stay stiff and not droop in the rain. The back of the bonnet has a curtain to protect the neck from sunburn.

This dress is suitable for living history reenactors from 1850 and forward, as well as Dicken's Fairs, wagon trains, pioneer days and other historic themed events. Although these were designed for Victorian Era events it's timeless features make it perfect for almost any place or timeline.
