Ladies wore belts over their bodice and skirts to help emphasize the waistline, to hide the join between the bodice and skirt, or to cover a clothing malfunction. Ladies made belts out of many different fabrics. Often the belt was used as a showpiece for the ladies handiwork. Women would spend hours working up intricate designs in needlework, beadwork or braidwork.
Pattern is for 5 styles of belts:
Cummerbund style
double pointed
single pointed worn point up or point down,
double curved
single curved edge.
These belts can be closed using three closure methods: hook and eye, button and loop or tie sash. We have included lots of ideas and patterns for trims and embellishments.
Pattern Requirements:
1/2 Yard of fashion fabric and under fabric
