TSM-711 Mens Bib Front Shirt Sewing Pattern, 19th Century Civilian Men's Shirt
A basic fitted shirt with an inset bib front. The shirt has slightly drop shoulders, medium width sleeves and a two-part collar. The pattern includes instructions for creating bibs, from the fancy ruffled of the early 1800’s to the plain and tucked bibs of the 1880’s. This pattern, with the minimal adjustments that are included with the pattern, can be used for most of the 1800’s. Instructions are included to achieve a band collar with which optional detachable collars can be worn. Fabric Requirements:
4 Yds of 45” fabric
8 small shank buttons or 2 – hole bone, china or glass buttons most commonly white
If you plan on detachable collar you will require 1 small flat white button *
If you plan on detachable cuffs you will require 4 small flat white buttons *
Sizing:
Shirts are sized using the chest measurements.
The pattern includes four sizes: Small, Medium, Large and X-large.
