PATRIOTIC ! RED, WHITE and BLUE This stocking style cap is perfect as a camp hat, a sleeping cap to keep your head warm on those chill nights or as a cold weather hat. The cap is made of a soft blended fiber in navy blue with deep cranberry red cuff edged in white and a red, white and blue mixed tassel. The cap measures 23 inches from cuff to point and is 20 - 21 inches in circumference. The crochet stitch allows some flexibility in sizing. The inspiration for the cap came from the CDV shown and the Voyageur cap or toque of the fur trade era. During that time the caps were often made of red wool. Another cap of similar shape was the Liberty Cap, which go back to the 1700’s and were either red or blue and often had patriotic mottos on them. This cap can be used for any Era from the 1600's up to modern day. Civil war soldiers will enjoy the cap for daily camp wear or as a sleeping cap.
