This crocheted version of a smoking or lounging cap is perfect as a camp hat, a smoking or evening wear cap for an extinguished Victorian Gentlemen, or a sleeping cap to keep you head warm on those chill nights. The cap is made of a soft blended fiber in navy blue with cream and red stripes, hand-embroidered accents and a deep red tassel finished with a gold metal button. The cap measures 8 1/2" across the top and the band is 23" in circumference. The crochet stitch allows some flexibility in sizing and a drawstring encased in the brim which will help to adjust size.
The inspiration for the cap came from the CDV shown and the graphic published in Peterson's Magazine. This cap can be used for any Era from the 1800's up to modern day. Civil war soldiers will enjoy the cap for daily camp wear or as a sleeping cap.
