Plaid Ribbon Trimmed White Cotton Daycap, Morning Cap, colonial, regency, Victorian
Plaid Ribbon Trimmed White Cotton Daycap, Morning Cap, colonial, regency, Victorian
Our simple morning or day cap is made of 100% clear cotton muslin and trimmed around the face with cotton eyelet lace which softens the look of the cap. The crown of the cap is finished with your choice of red or blue plaid folded ribbon. Milliner's wire is encased in the front edge of the cap, which provides a comfortable and secure way to keep the cap on your head and can be adjusted to fit your head. The back of the cap is edged with eyelet lace and gathered upon milliner's wire. A simple bow finishes the back of the cap. This is a soft light-weight cap that is easy to wear and offers a great way to complete your look.
While worn in both the 17th and 18th centuries, this cap was commonly used as a morning and utilitarian cap during the 19th century. It is the perfect cap for those who require an easy head covering upon rising. This head covering is appropriate for Civil War reenactments as well as other 1800’s events such as Dickens or Christmas Fairs or wagon train (Prairie Days). It would also be a good item for workers or volunteers at historical sites.
