TSB-103 Tea Bodice has a fitted front that falls to a point over the waistband of your skirt, a peplum back, a jewel neckline and pagoda sleeves. The sleeves and peplum are designed to be trimmed with a self-fabric, pleated ruffle. The bodice can be fastened with your choice of three optional closings. A very dressy, flattering style that does not cut the wearer in half, like bodices that are attached to the skirts can. This is a good bodice for longer-waisted women. It is a style that can be worn by all ages.

Tea Bodices were worn to “take Tea” which often meant an afternoon of visiting. Tea Bodices were designed to “be seen” and thus were fancier and more formal. this bodice makes a great upscale day dress.

Key features of the bodice include:
· Long shoulder seams fall off the shoulder and towards the back.
· Jewel neck-lined bodice fastens at the center front.
· Side seams are towards the back.
· Armholes (armscye) shaped to appear diagonal and sewn with piping.
· Modified Pagoda Sleeves are cut full at the elbow.
· Peplum back gives the garment a "going". Many of the outfits of the Era made a statement either in their front-the coming or the back-the going. This back definitely makes a back statement.

Instructions are included for installing piping at neckline and armscyes.

The bodice is designed to be worn with detachable collars and sleeve jockeys. TSA-Sleeve Jockeys and Cuffs and TSA-502 Chemisettes ad Collars are great patterns for these items.

Combine with a Timeless Stitches skirt pattern to create a perfect day dress or basic work dress. TSS-201 Double Opening Skirt, TSS-202 Gauged Skirt and TSS-203 Gored Skirt each work well.
