This pretty crocheted necktie works wonderfully well to keep the neck warm. It is perfect for the cooler weather Victorian Era events such as Civil War re-enactments, Dickens Fairs and winter Caroling. It is great for those working in Historical settings that need a scarf to keep them warm.

The slit in the center of the necktie allows you to insert one tail through so that the necktie does not come loose. The pattern is loosely based on the Neck-tie pattern published in Godey’s Lady’s Book, October 1861. While the original pattern came from the 1860's I often use mine as a modern scarf. I love the way the slit allows the necktie to be held against the neck and keeps the necktie in place.

The necktie measures 48 inches in length and width is about 5 inches. It is made out of Caron's Simply Soft acrylic yarn in a pretty autumn red with black edging.

Want to make your own? The pattern for this neck-tie is included in our Needle Arts Booklet - Volume 4 To Keep You Warm. It can be purchased as a digital download or as a hard copy.
