White Ribbon Rose Trimmed Folded Ribbon Fanchon Style Lacy Daycap, Bridal
hThis elegant day cap is made of white lace net and trimmed with white folded ribbon accented with white ribbon roses with a simple pearl center and ending in white bows. The crown of the cap features the same net edged with lace. Milliners wire is encased in the front edge of the cap, which provides a comfortable and secure way to keep the cap on your head and can be adjusted to fit your head. The back of the cap is edged with 3 inch wide net edged with the same lace and gathered upon milliner’s wire. Two simple white ribbon tails, known as fascicules, finish the back of the cap. This is a soft light-weight cap that is easy to wear and offers a great way to complete your look. Unlike many of the day caps of the Era this cap is meant to sit on top of your finished coiffure and NOT to contain your hair.
Day caps were worn by most married women for both morning and day wear. The social status and economic means dictating the fabrics and trims used. Many of these more elaborately trimmed caps were worn for evening wear as well. This would make a wonderful cap to complete your Bridal Attire.
